Summary of the seminar

14 May- UK & Israeli Delegates

Generally a great day. All the speakers were interesting during the morning session. The video Gil Erez screened of spliced footage about Israel was a great start to the conference and put the entire event in context for UK delegates. David Furst’s talk stood out, it was general yet all the statistics were specific to the event again contextualising it. (personally I thought last years update speech and film was better than this year’s but that is just a personal view - HAH)

Unfortunately the afternoon of Israeli companies presentations proved a little too heavy for delegates. The first few presentations were unnecessarily long and delegates left the conference during the coffee break. This was mentioned in the feedback from delegates and it was suggested that a presentation format should be sent to all companies prior to the event and a time limit should be implemented.

The cocktail party seemed a great success, everyone appeared involved, contacts were made and many had to be asked to leave at the end as they were still networking, drinking and eating.

15 May- Israeli Delegates, presentations to the panel, 1-to-1 meetings

The morning speakers were outstanding; every talk was applicable to every delegate and conveyed exactly the information they needed. All delegates said the morning exceeded their expectations and provided ‘information that you couldn’t put a price on’.

The presentations to the panel again was said to be invaluable and the panel comprised of the exact people the Israeli companies had traveled to meet. The panel consisted of a former NHS hospital Chief Executive, a commissioning GP and health expert, Roy Lilley.

The 1-to-1 meetings again provided specific networking opportunities for all companies. The feedback on these meetings were that they were not long enough and the companies could be matched better had specific information been taken from each company prior to the event.

Feedback

On the 15th all Israeli delegates were asked to voice feedback on the entire event. All said the conference had exceeded expectations, had successfully introduced them to the right UK contacts and had delivered the exact information they came to hear about doing business in the NHS.

We are likely to adopt the suggestion made that a website be made for the next event so companies could find out information about UK delegates, joining instructions, submit information about their companies and view the programme in advance.

Overall the event was felt to be incredibly successful by UK and Israeli delegates and all hope for a repeat event.
